"The Game of Life" by Florence Scovel Shinn is a metaphysical delight! First published in 1925, it's another oldie-but-goodie which remains a favorite with truth-seekers.
This book is a joy to read. Ms. Shinn explains the law of attraction simply and easily. Her upbeat attitude is what makes "The Game of Life" so remarkable.
She believed that spirituality shouldn't be complicated or convoluted. One chapter describes "The Law of Nonresistance," which means to eagerly accept your desired good and "prepare a place" for it in your consciousness---then it will arrive (manifest) in your outer world.
Ms. Shinn had a wonderful sense of humor and said life should be joyful and easy. She believed "anticipation" is far more important than visualization---similar to Esther Hicks' spiritual philosophy.
And if you like "The Game of Life," you'll want to read Ms. Shinn's three other small but powerful books---"The Power of the Spoken Word," "Your Word is Your Wand" and "The Secret of Success." All four books are included in a volume called "The Wisdom of Florence Scovel Shinn."
Her writing style is surprisingly contemporary, but there are a few fun references to life in the 1920's. It's awesome to realize that 85 years later, her book is still amazing.
